# Create asynchronous document conversion task

> Create a document conversion task and return its `task_id` immediately. Queue messages are currently retained for approximately one hour, a task consumer times out after approximately 180 seconds, and result files are generally valid for approximately one hour. These durations are not stable SLAs.

Creation failure may still appear as HTTP 200 with `code=success` and `data=null`. Require a non-empty `data.task_id`, then poll the query endpoint with a backoff strategy.
